Comparison table of Re-Impact table tennis blades
The table below offers a general overview of Re-Impact blades, helping you to make choices about the style that the blades were designed for, the kind of rubbers that are best used on it, and a specification of the character of the forehand and the backhand side of the blade.
Most of the Re-Impact blades have a balsa-core. The balsa is specially treated and assembled with the other plies in such a way that its dynamic properties are and will remain optimal.
In the combination blades, forehand and backhand are largely independent from each other, which results in exceptional differences in playing characteristics between the two sides.
As described in the Re-Impact Technology Section, several parts of the manufacturing process involved have been patented by Re-Impact. As a result of treatment and assembly the blade will offer high catapult on offensive strokes and low catapult on defensive or control strokes; the degree of catapult depends directly on the force and type of stroke used by the player, who is thus able to precisely determine it and has at his disposal a combination of effective attack and precise defense with an extremely high overall control. Blades having this special properties are listed as “dynamic blades”. The blades that do not have a balsa core, or have balsa in forehand or backhand only, are less dynamic as a result, and are listed as “conventional blade”.
Some Re-Impact blades combine well with certain types of rubber (pimpled rubbers, inverted rubbers, or anti-spin rubbers) and this is also indicated. If no special indication is given, the blade combines well with all types.
The indications for the speed of the blades are approximations, and refer to character more than to velocity, as in the balsa blades speed has a very dynamic range (see Technology).
The Spin Factor is a measure of how much more extra spin you’ll achieve with the Re-Impact, compared to a regular blade. The dynamic properties of the Re-Impact blades add spin to the bat very much like a speed-glued rubber adds spin to a bat. The actual numbers should be used for comparisons between Re-Impact blades only.
Abbreviations: LP=Long pimples, MP=Medium Pimples, SP=Short Pimples, INV=Inverted; Def=Defensive, All=Allround, Off=Offensive; FH=forehand, BH=backhand, OX=without sponge.
